Abstract

This paper examines information management and access roles of the libraries toward economic sustainability
and stability of the Nigeria economy during pandemic. Content analysis was adopted as a research methodology.
Poor distribution network of libraries, lack of viable knowledge repository databases for research works, high
illiteracy rate and lack of reading culture among others were identified as factors inhibiting the information
management and access roles of the libraries. The paper recommends that Librarians and Information Managers
should prioritize information management and access and not only information acquisition. They should also
invest on capacity building for the library staff in the area of information management and access roles of the
libraries.
